Sunflower Ceramic Studio was established in 2019 after I moved to Houston. I started the business because of my love for clay and how it engages all of the senses. My products are made primarily by throwing on the pottery wheel, with a focus on making dinnerware.

Just moved in and already feeling the sparks of creativity! The kiln is whispering inspiring ideas, and I can’t wait to transform this space—one incredible pot at a time. Exciting things are on the horizon 🌻

🌻 I’ve swapped out my equipment and now everything is set up for wheel throwing, back to familiar territory. I’ll be starting out with mugs, followed by tumblers with thumb indents. Once I’ve got a good amount of them, I’ll be wheel throwing plates (rather than using the jigger arm). I am determined to get these plates into your hands ✨ As always, follow along on my stories for behind the scene peeks!

Working on making some post cards with care instructions for everyone. By including a post card with every order, it will be easier to know that your pieces are food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe. Plus it gives care instructions like how to get rid of any cutlery marks that may happen. Hopefully this will answer any questions you may have. Trimming a plate today! One of the best parts of using a jigger tool is the minimal touch up needed after shaping. Up next is waiting for it to dry to put my signature, then its off to the bisque firing 🔥
