2020 Production Catalogue

This is the first year the studio was able to make items. However, the COVID-19 Pandemic left a huge impact and we had to stay closed. We were able to start small with decorative trinket bowls that were available in three matte colors. They were intended to be used as a catch-all bowl for small objects.

2021 Production Catalogue

This year I really expanded the types and colors of items that the studio offered.

We transitioned from a matte white and black to a variety of glossy colors. The new glazes are food safe despite being bright and intense. We now offer cotton candy pink, egg yolk yellow, sapphire blue, and stormy gray.

The small trinket bowl is now available in food safe glazes, so it can be used to hold your spare change or it can be used to hold your favorite dipping sauce. Cereal bowls and mugs were added this year in the new food safe glazes as well. A new functional item made an appearance this year: soap dishes! These small, grooved plates can also be used to hold your sponges.

2022 Production Catalogue

At the beginning of the year Sunflower Ceramic Studio moved into its new home. With access to more storage and equipment, there was more freedom to expand from the previous catalogue. However, the process of moving coupled with an extended period of illness did not leave much time this year to create new work. My hope is that in 2023 I will be able to continue working on the new catalogue.

This year we were able to create a new item: the thumb cup. The indent on the side of the cup makes it easy and comfortable to hold.

In addition to keeping last year’s color palette, the studio has expanded the glazes that it offers. We now have a satin black, speckle white, and speckle brown that are also food safe.

2023 Production Catalogue

This year we expanded the number of items we carried. However, in order to do that successfully I had to limit the number of glazes available to three neutrals: speckle white, speckle brown, and satin black.

I still offer the classic cereal bowl and salsa bowl sizes. We do now have an even smaller bowl available which I call The Tiny Triangle Dish - it’s a very fun, triangular shape. It is the perfect size for holding jewelry, like your engagement or wedding ring. It is also made with food safe glazes and is the right size for soy sauce or other condiments.

Our mugs have been revamped and have a new and improved handle. You’ll still be able to fit all of your fingers, but now the mugs have a more elegant and modern design.

Something new this year that I experimented with was colored clay. We have cereal bowls and tumbler cups in delicious swirls of color. We have pieces in a blue and purple combination, and we also have pieces in a yellow and orange combination. Each swirl is one of a kind due to the nature of the creation process.
